Proof that my little boy is growing up smacked me in the face today. We were discussing Christmas and what he is going to tell Santa he wants him to bring this morning. Jacob announced to me that Santa is not real! OH! My heart broke! Further discussion with him showed that a Friend on his bus told him that Santa is not real and that the parents buy the presents.
Trying to salvage just one more year of innocent childhood for him, I tried to talk him into believing ME instead of a stupid kid who thinks he knows more than I do. If I can’t come up with a way to get ONE MORE YEAR, I will just have to accept the inevitable fact that my little baby is growing up. Sooner than I wanted or expected.
